Let’s start by setting the scene for your prelude

You can think of your prelude music as an introduction to your ceremony.

At this point, your guests will have started arriving, making their way to their seats, and chances are that many have traveled quite some distance.

Playing peaceful or happy music during this time is a beautiful way to welcome everyone, help them relax, and transition into “wedding-mode” so there’s a build of excitement before you walk down the aisle.

It’s time to pick out your prelude music

When choosing your music, there are a few things to thing about:

  • Do you want to play instrumental music, or songs with lyrics?

  • If you choose to play instrumental music, what is your favorite instrument?

  • How do you want your guests to feel as they wait for your ceremony to begin, or what mood do you want to set?

  • Who are your favorite bands and are there any good instrumental versions of their songs you could use?

Answering these questions will give you a clear idea of exactly what kind of music you’re looking for, and will help you choose songs you love. Also, keep in mind that your prelude music should start no later than twenty minutes before your ceremony begins, so you’ll want to make sure to choose enough songs to cover that amount of time.

I have a beautiful playlist of wedding song ideas for you to preview.  You can preview the playlist, by clicking here. I hope it helps you find music you love, so the prelude portion of your ceremony is a heartwarming moment you'll never forget.

Now, let’s chat about your music!
